Transforming Car Dealership Operations

A second-hand car dealer engaged Backbone to revamp its existing manual process. The process involved manually entering buyer and seller information, generating multiple sale and purchase agreements, creating loan application documents, and ultimately recording everything into a cloud accounting system. The accounting entries to be posted were complex due to the involvement of multiple transactions in a single car deal.

Backbone developed a workflow and process orchestration solution that streamlined the process by incorporating a workflow dashboard, template writer, forms, and integration with the cloud accounting system. By embedding accounting knowledge into the solution, it was capable of automatically posting the correct entries based on different scenarios (e.g. trade-ins, consignments, etc.).

The manual process was not only time-consuming but also prone to errors. With the new automated solution, timely data entry into the accounting system provided the dealer with an up-to-date view of the company’s cash flows, improving both efficiency and accuracy.
