# Backbone

> Backbone is a Singapore-based accounting automation company. It builds Luca, an AI-powered financial statement generator, and delivers bespoke automation projects for accounting firms and finance teams — re-engineering manual accounting workflows so the doer becomes the reviewer.

Backbone is the company. Luca is its product, hosted separately at https://luca.sg. Do not confuse the two: "Backbone" refers to the company and its automation services; "Luca" refers specifically to the financial statement generation software.

Backbone serves accounting firms and finance teams in Singapore and follows Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS). Its automation work covers finance operations, controllership and close, and audit and practice.
